How To Choose The Right Cat Toy
For Your Furry Friend
The best kitty cat toys are not necessarily the ones that you buy from an expensive shop. Instead, you want to focus on choosing the ones that you feel will make the most significant memories of both you and your beloved cat. The best toys for a kitten can also be bought online. Several shops exist that now offer you this opportunity. Here on KittyCatSoapBox, we’ve also done the necessary research to make sure we’ve added only the best products in our store.
Along with the increased number of toys available online comes an abundance of both good and mediocre quality toys. You need to be really careful while selecting the best kitty toys for your furry friend (or without fur even). Fortunately, we’ve compiled a handy list of tips to help you navigate the kitty cat toy waters. Some of the dos and don’ts you need to follow while choosing the right cat toy include:
DO’s
- Always pick round and soft toys that roll easily
- Balls made out of different material is always a safe bet
- See if the toy is providing the proper amount of stimulation and exercise for your cat
- Do check for safety instructions while buying any kind of toy specified for cats
- Always get a variety of toys rather than one rubber duckie again and again
- Do keep those toys away from children and vice versa (at least try to, anyway)
- The more chewable the toy, the more interested will your cat be in playing with it. Use supervision with these types of toys at all times
- When buying chewable toys and other such treats, do check and make sure the item is safe for cats
- Do keep the likes and dislikes of your cat in mind while buying a cat toy
DON’T’s
- Never get sharp objects that can harm your cat
- Avoid toys that have protruding edges
- Metal is always a NO NO!
- Weigh the pros and cons of buying expensive toys. You don’t want to choose something that your cat refuses to use.
- Never go for toys that are linear in shapes like a pencil-shaped toy or use a string toy for obvious reasons. Your baby could easily poke himself of choke on a wad of string.
- The toy should not be small enough to swallow
- Don’t buy toys with batteries as they are alkaline in nature and can harm your cat
- Toys that make noise when played with will not let you sleep. Use your judgment when buying these.
- Don’t make it about yourself or what you like. Make your cat happy!
The best kitty cat toys depend on several factors… 1) Your cat’s personality 2) the amount of time he spends alone and 3) the level of interest he shows in various toy types. Keep in mind that a bored cat is generally a mischievous cat. Cats are highly intelligent animals and get bored easily.
Keep changing the toys at a certain frequency. You can reuse toys after a while to keep your furbaby interested in playing with them. And we’ll continue to purchase, review, and suggest the best ones here on the Box!
